I found a place where we can get any size and type of plastic fastener possible. The problem is the quantities you have to buy. Let me know if you might be interested and I will see if it would be worth getting and re distributing to members. Prices are ok, the problem lies in the quantities you have to buy. Some stuff you can get packs of 25, but most items you have to buy 100 or more.
I've just bought a Boyu TL-550 and want to move everything over from my 24G JBJ Nano Cube.
What is the best way of doing this?
So far i've put in about 60L of SW and matched the SG to that of my tank. Added substrate and put some LR rubble (from the old tank) into the new tank. Any advice please.
The main reason for this forum entry is my existing tank's days are numbered.
Upgrade Time
I started my tank and this wicked hobby in Dec 2007. I purchased an existing tank with good plumbing, RO unit and a great skimmer (DNW200)
The package deal gave me all the basic and essential equipment.
First thing I learnt was transporting a 400L tank is not easy, especially when you taking all the water, corals, LR and other livestock for a 50km ride.
After the insane job of assembling a tank and restocking water, LR and livestock in one night. I thought what the hell have I got myself into.:crying:
Then out came my priced and most precious Midas Blenny. He danced for me in the now rising sunlight, and I was hooked.:)
I have to mention an important ingredient to the whole hobby's recipe (for me) is MASA, which has given as much pleasure, humour and heartache as the actual tank, inmates and machina.
Hi
I built my closed loop system using plumbers tape to seal the water inlet pipes so that I could adjust the flow directions. Clearly there is air getting in somewhere as I have a massive micro bubble problem. Having eliminated all the other possible causes from my sump, I now believe that air is getting in above the water line at one or more of the pipe joints and I now need to seal the pipes properly with PVC glue.
My question is this:
Once I have glued the pipes in properly, I can't vent the system to release the glue vapours that will inevitably fill the piping system. When I turn on the pumps and these fumes then go into the water, are they potentially fatal to my livestock, or will they quickly dissipate/skimmer take them out etc? Is it a risky thing to do?
