Tunze streams

Guys a buddy of mine has 2 tunze 6100 streams that's a bit over a year old for sale .
He wants R2000 a stream.
Then he also has a brand spanking new 6101 stream for R2900.
Please pm me if u are interested.
1.8 or 1.5m tank wanted

Hi Everyone, i'm looking for a 1.8 or 1.5m tank to buy with or without a stand, will collect, if someone knows of some one please let me know :thumbup: will have the money by end of April.
How deep must sand bed be?

I have started filling up my 500 liter tank this weekend with RO water and it is about 3/4 now. I want to scape the sand bed, but have some questions.
I have filled it up with 40 kg (1 to 3 mm) and 20 kg (6 mm) crushed coral. It is apparently not the best, by my LFS did not have aragonite.
Currently the fine coral is at the bottom and the coarse coral are on top and it is about 50 mm deep.
How deep should it be and should I mix it?
I would like to finish it before the tank is full.

I am looking for the following stuff... I know I have mentioned it way back when, but my supplies are finished and I would not like to buy it from the Lfs again as I paid a lot of money for it...

This is what I want:

1.) Phosphate Media- quite a biggish bottle (Not the Fluid)

2.) Iodene

3.) Strontium

I would also like to know any Ideas as to the Following additives:
a.) Magnesium
b.) whatever else I need to get

There were some guys asking about IMACSA ath the meeting.

The CTRC is planning to do block bookings and accomodation for guys attending the IMACSA conference, can I just get a list of names for those who are keen as an indication.

GREEN Hairy algae back....

Aahh damn-it!!!
The green hairy monster is back in my tank!!!!
A couple of days ago i've noted that some of my live rock have some green hairy algae on it... Now it started to spread to some of my other rocks!!!! Crap!

I was so proud of my new tank, as everything went well for a good while now, until 2 weeks ago - I've had some of the red hairy algae on the back glass (see thread - Red hairy algae on back glass and on some rocks - Marine Aquariums of South Africa), now this.

I hate this stuff, because it means that somewhere something is wrong - very wrong!!
I have some cheato and alot of cauliptra (not sure on spelling) in my sump.
My tank is running for 5 months now.

Nothing changed - i'm still feeding the same amount of food, no new life stock - nothing, but the damn hairy algae is back! :( :( :(

My phosphates is 0.3 (not sure on the measuring unit here but I use tropic marine to test)

Not sure on the other parameters - test kits are depleted - and my monthly budget is down the drain, as i've just bought some other equipement like a chiller/T5 lights ballasts pumps ext....The LFS is charging me R40.00 A tests.. i'm not prepared to pay that - I'll have to wait for my test kits...

How can i deal with my phosphates more effectively? (i want this all natural as possible, thus i'm not to keen to use rowa or phosphate removers)

Should i leave the LR with the green hairy algae in the tank, or should i remove it from the tank?

How can i get my cheato to grow faster, as i don't see that it's really growing fast enough, my cauliptra on the other hand is growing like mad...?

hey guys!

i finally decided to go to imacsa this year...

just checked out the brochure & it looks like it'll be an awesome event + i don't have to put in leave anymore as it falls on a public holiday! :yeahdude:

i also can't wait to check out the africa aquarium expo (i'm also a FW freak :razz:)

just wanted to know as it'll be cool to meet some of you oke's there

I went to see a rather good tank on saturday, 12ft x 4ft x 3ft
