Hope someone can shed some light on this for me...... sorry that was unnecesary. I have 2 250w 14k BLV's running on a 2m tank about 50cm above the water. i have the the fittings and ballasts in the lighting hood for another 2 mhs. i raised the hood to its current height in preperation for the extra 2 250w mhs. my only concern is that i almost lost a few lps ( false brains, candy cane ) and one or two other colonies when i upgraded from 2 150 ventures to the 250w blvs. there seems to be enough light and everyone is quite happy so the extra lighting is more for asthetics than anything else. would putting 20k blvs (would look awesome) cause less stress ie light shock than say putting another 2 14k blvs.

QUOTE:
"Although we generally think of corals as originating from brightly lighted natural reefs and naturally assume corals need lots of light, the truth is that most corals require relatively little in order to thrive. For example, the 'Fox' coral (Nemezophyllia sp.) does quite well in low light. Thriving specimens have been noted in as little light as 35 µMol·m²·sec! On the other hand, an Acropora specimen (commonly called the 'Purple Monster') displayed magnificent coloration in the highest light intensity I have ever measured in an aquarium - almost 900 µMol·m²·sec (later research reveal that this coral photo-saturates at 300-400 µMol·m²·sec. I was wasting a lot of light and money!). Most corals will grow quite well in light intensities of 200-300 µMol·m²·sec."
Ok, so i have millions of micro bubbles in my display and it irretating looking at my tank and just see small bubbles... So i done some research and to get rid of it I must build a bubble trap in my sump... Right i know how to build it, but where should it be... The first glass pane or last glass pane?

I've easily fragged mushrooms in the past. Now I want to frag my ricordia, just a bit scared as he was expensive! ;) Is a ricordia as tough as most other mushies?
