hey guys this softie is in my mantis tank, going to upgrade light on the tank
whould love to know what it is, LFS told me sinularia, but i don't think so
I'm currently using extremely fine playsand as my substrate. I love the look of this, but can't help but wonder if i'd be better off with Aragonite (for its buffering capacity).
I've included a poll as not sure if I should leave it as is, remove half and top up with aragonite, or remove all and replace completely with aragonite.
Just got a BEAUTIFUL torch coral from Midasblenny, and it took my clowns nearly a week to find it. But anyway they're hosting in it right now, and i've noticed its not as inflated as usual.
Will they host it to death? What should I do? I don't want to lose either :(
I have a new system running for 3 months. I have both fish and coral.
The tank is 120l I also have a DSB with a protien skimmer.
The temp of the tank is 27dc and the Nitrites and Nitrates are 0. i dont have any other testers. i also do a 10% water change every 2 weeks
All my corals are doing well but the Zoa's.
My first set of Zoas lasted for a week then closed and never opened a month ago, at first i thought it could be due to my tank being new. I then purchased a second set of Zoanthid 10 days ago, they opened perfecty for a week and are now closed for 3 days.
Please tell me there is some hope that they will open up again.
My cleaner shrimp died, had him for over a year. He was 75mm(3 inches) long - I know they're not expensive, but he was my friend...
Fish in the system for quite some time now: cleaner wrasse, sixline wrasse, fire goby, midas blenny, algae blenny, coral beauty, sailfin tang, tile fish, common clown, false grammar and 6 humbugs(hope it's right). Water parameters are excellent and temp constant at 26deg.
He looked fine the previous day and still took a piece of prawn from my fingers. What could've caused this? :(
I am looking for wavemakers. At least 02 of them, but, I have the Resun 15000lt wavers, and am looking for something much shorter as well as much wider.
The "outlet" must be much wider to be able to "disturb/turn" more water at once and it must be much shorter in lenght to minimise visibility inside the tank.
Can you buy something like that and if you can, where??
I've just returned from a quick 2 weeks in Los Angeles:cool: - and it was awesome!
My friend has an awesome little 50g system which I helped him connect to a frag tank etc. We were supposed to redo the aquascaping but we didn't get a chance.
He took me on a quick shop tour, well, we only went to 2 shops, but each was on each side of LA. Enough with the talk, here are the photos...
Vivid
This place blew my mind, I felt as if I was inside the 'internet' with the amazing collection of corals they had!
So I was really bored, and decided to copy all the pics in my thread and put them all in one thread to make it easier for me to go back and check out the progress, as I really have to many pics on my pc to search amongst them all.
This is really not for comments as it is just easier to find pics without turning pages due to comments, so please mods, try and help to keep the text outta this thread.....
