Where to find Loc-line Y-Connectors and Flare nozzles
i want to replace the stock pump of the 24G NC DX with a Maxi Jet 900, I wanted to split the flow with a Loc-line Y-Connector and use 2 flare nozzles
Anyone been on a short ship cruize?

Ok guys anyone been on these short 3/4 day ship cruises? Like to Mozambique or somewhere - Married 10 years next February thought could take the wife on a short ship cruise as she doesn't like water too much but maybe I could relish the underwater life on this trip.... Any of these cruises allow you to bring specimens home?

What is the efficiency difference between an internal nw110 skimmer and an external dnw 110?both having the same output pumps attached.
bloated stumich

clark clown fish with a bloated stumich, what do i need to do now, one of my power heads, seio m11oo , the suckers came loose and as you can imagene, everything in the tank was caios, did a 50 liter water change every thing back to normal, water par are normal to, then 2 days later , my clown fish got a big stumich, all the other fish are ok.

What substrate should I use?

Hi All

I've read a few posts on the forum that state you could use any number of substrates:
Playsand
Pool filter sand
Aragonite
Crushed Coral
Beach Sand

I need sound advise on what substrate to use to place on the bottom of my tank. I have a 2 m x 0.6 x 0.6
All the petshops recommend aragonite or crushed coral. At around R500 a 20kg bag. I'd need about 5 bags to get an approximate 5cm base. obviously very beneficial to the store!

I'm more interested in the posts that say you can use beach sand. I'm pretty close to Blouberg beach near Cape Town. What are the risks? The LPS says it's contaminated etc...
Where should I collect it? In the ocean at the water mark during low tide? How should I clean the sand? Is plain tap water fine? Won't rinsing it kill the critters in it that make it beneficial?

Secondly what substrate other than aragonite and crushed coral should I use in the Deep Sand Bed (DSB) that is safe and non harmful?

hi i was thinking of adding to my tank buyo TL-550 one more pump of 800 lt/hr on top of the standard pump that come with it.
would that be a good idea?

Can somebody tell me why my foxface some time get brown on its side over his yello color skin? All water par looks fine.
