Is this a bumble bee snail? if so, will it murder anything in my tank??:(

And this is my nudi, Bill, he is a dollabella auricularia and he bulldozes long hair algaes but is kinda clumsy, if anyone wants him for a 100 buck then shout, oh and hes big, real big:P

To all CT Reefers , a huge :thumbup: & thank you for your support & patience with the first CT coral shipment, having it come in by suprise has created a few challenges but your patience and understanding has made it great fun

The attidude has been amazing and I am sure we will just grow from strenght to strength ( as long as they dont drop a suprize shipment on me again :P)

I have a fibreglass bodied filter with a timer and solenoid at the top, it also has a plug that used to be connected to a computer that controlled a hospital's water filtration system. The timer and visible working parts including the tube that goes down into the cylinder is plastic or rubber. The cylinder measures 900x180 and it has a sticker on it that says cylinder size 9x35. This filter was used as a carbon filter and I had a plan to put phosphate remover in it. Well my whole system is about 90 litres and this filter is way too big. I would like to swop it for something more suitably sized that can hold phosphate remover and possibly carbon. Some advice will also be very welcome.

hi there, im looking for a outo top up, just got back from town, and was chock, price on a outo top up unit r656, is this realy the price of it? is there a way for diy, if yes please send me the diy plans, or maybe buy a second hand one from some one, please help

Scopus Tang in need of attention

Hi Guys,

I recently bought more rock from a guy that was looking to shut down his system and ended up rescuing his fish as well... his system was poorly maintained and in a bit of a state.

All the fish are a lot happier now and I have removed two bullies out of the equation... basically he had the following:

- Scopus Tang
- 3 Yellow Tail Damsel's
- 1 African Damsel (Bully No 1)
- 1 VERY LARGE Maroon Clown (Bully No 2)
- 1 Bi-Color Angel
- 1 Fisheri Angel
- 1 Scooter Blennie (Gave him to a mate of mine)

Anyways, the Bullies who have been exiled to the pet shop for resale were terrorizing this poor Scopus Tang and have completely demolished some of his fins... (As seen in the pics below) and his scales on either side are damaged as well...

Apologies for the poor quality photo's I had to freeze frame some video as he is rather camera shy ;)

After adding him to my 4ft 400l tank he is MUCH happier to say the least.

My questions are:

Can I get his fins to grow back and scales to regenerate?
And, If so, how can I do this?

Riaan I am stealing your idea and asking for people's opinions on stock :) hope you don't mind!

What I have:
2 x clowns (the normal ones, not true percs)
1x racoon butterfly
1x blenny
2x boxfish
1x cleaner wrasse
1x watchman goby
1x blue spotted toby
1 x lionfish juvie who is going to be too big soon... :(
1x either some obscure anthias or damsel, no-one knows for sure... lol

what I like:
tangs
angels
anything pretty and compatible! haha

corals i have:
zoas
crater coral
torch
mushrooms
pavona
small brain frag

system is 400 litres or so in total.

ideas? thoughts?

I went to the local Buildersware house here in Table View/Parklands/Sunningdale yesterday and saw a new marine shop opening there.

It's called something like Ocean Son.... any one have any more info on it?

Was just curious as to whether these UPS's would be worth holding onto?
Mecer Blazer 600 UPS rated at 360W?

Would i be able to run my return and maybe my heater (150W), and if so for how long would they be able to run. I have 2 of them BTW.
