  Are there really no other options for aquarium controllers than going out and buying a profilux for R20 000???
  
  Anyone tried importing one?
  
  Anyone here use another brand?

  Power failure

  Evening, hope some one can assist me. I got a canister filter (placed inside a plastic container) with my 95 liter tank. Today we had a 45 minutes power cut and when I got home I found that about 6 liter water has been sucked out of the tank out by its seal on top of the filter and into the plastic container. Is there anything I can do to prevent this happening again?

  Im planning to buy a new skimmer and ive chosen Via Aqua SK 388 considering my budget. Is it a good skimmer ? I saw Falcon's reply here under one topic and his pix were promising. Now is there any other better skimmer compared to Via Aqua SK 388 in the same price?
  
  @Falcon - Do u still recommend this skimmer ?

  Has 3 x 150w Metal halide lamps
  2 x 54w fluorescents
  and 4 Moonlights

  Notes:

  The unit is currently in use, i want to upgrade to bigger metal halides. The only thing needs replacing is the two pieces of perspex sliding over the fluorescent tubes.

  Today we are landing the following 3 shipments! YES THREE!!!!
  
  USA and Indonesia are already in the shop!
  
  USA have some nice specimens in it and some of the trusted oldies;)
  Look below for the list.
  
  The Indonesia shipment is the one with the SHOCKINGLY GREAT specimens:thumbup::yeahdude::slayer:
  The supplier were not able to get all the corals we needed :( - so he added some SHOW SPECIMENS to our boxes and I have not seen this quality before, neither did I ever saw some of the species - like
  Australomussa Rowlwyensis
  and some variety's that we did not get in the past like
  Red Doughnut Coral - Acanthophyllia spp.
  
  
  So I am in the candy store AGAIN & I LOVE IT!!:thumbup::thumbup:
  
  Then Sri Lanka are landing later today with some nice species as well!

  How many of you have had your fish eat cheato?
  
  I put some in my QT tank & the fish in there started eating it so now I leave some in so they can eat it when they want. I take some and place it one a rock with a rubber band like norri.

  What Iwant to know is what is the difference between feeding:
  Krill Vs Plankton Vs Brine Vs Mysis.
  
  Is it all just various types of food or are ther specific for certain fish?
  Is ther any nutritional value?
  Do they all add PO4 to the tank regardless of the excess juices drained?
  Who uses what meaty foods and how often?

  Perhaps the guys whom run chillers can help me out here , what size chiller would be need for a 1000 litre system? I'm looking into the haliea range.
  
  Secondly how noisy are these units and perhaps someone can point out the pro.s and con.s running these units indoors?

  Skimmer Suggestions for my Boyu TL450

  So now that the hood has come off my Boyu TL450, I can now look at a better skimmer for my systems. I know a lot of peeps are using the Boyu WG308 which i'm guessing is because it fits into the compartment. But without the lid I can look at maybe a hangover unit as well ???
  
  Any suggestions?
  
  My standard skimmer is actually working suprising well and does pull a fair amount of crap out of the water but I rate I can find a better unit.

  guys i am looking for engine room pics of commercial fish /coral holding facilities, so far i like the system that TMC has to offer and i have actually seen one in action but i was wondering what else could be dug up as reference..
