I Thought I would give some info on the Profilux Standalone Doser that I have just got
This is an excellent unit and the build quality is top notch. The Doser does not need to be controlled by a profilux aquarium controller due to it having a built in controller.
I have a 3 pump unit and it has space to be upgraded with 1 more pump. The unit can also control an additional doser without controller taking the amount of pumps up to a maximum of 8 pumps.
I have found the setup of the unit very easy - First thing I did was set the date and time. I an event of a power failure the unit has a backup battery to save all settings.
All I had to do was make a stand for the unit and do the piping.
I used RO tubing for the piping and dipped it in hot water to soften the piping and then insert a smaller diameter pvc pip into it. I then used silicon tubing and connected to the doser inlet which is on the right hand side of the pump. The pump seems to run Anti-clockwise. I used a similar system for the outlets but used 90deg elbows for RO tubing courtesy of extra fittings left over from my Waterboy R.O unit (aka Marco)
I am using :
Brightwells Reef Bio-Fuel On Pump 1 and have initially set it to dose 7ml a day (broken down 24 times over the day)
Brightwells Reefcode B - Buffer (alkalinity) on pump 2 and will start the initial dosing at 30ml (broken down 24 times over the day)
Brightwells Reefcode A - Calcium on pump 3 and will start the initial dosing at 30ml (broken down 24 times over the day)
The Doser has an Auto setting that will automatically break down your daily dosing into the amount of times you set it. It will also stagger the dosing so that the Buffer(alkalinity) and Calcium will not be dosed together so that it will not cause precipitation.
If there are any people using the Doser - Please leave your comments and tell us your dosing regime?
