Vacation feeder

If you travel a lot it is a pain to explain to someone how to feed your tank so I always use this. It is just a small powerhead with a film container stuck to the outflow. The film container has some 1/4" holes in it and it is positioned in the water on the edge of the tank with the top of the container out of the water. Adjust it so that the water just comes out of the 6 or 7 holes and not over the top.
I just keep this contraption running on the front edge of the tank and I have pre mixed frozen food in the freezer. The person feeding the tank just drops in a cube of frozen food that I also have in film containers. It thaws in the film container on the powerhead and gets dispersed throughout the tank.
No guessing.

Hi Guys/Gals

I have over the last 2 weeks finally added some life to my tank.
250l Cube tank.
It is great, hope all goes well with my fish, they have been doing great so far.

I added a new False pecular clown and it started figting with my first oe, which i expected, seems like they have already sorted themselves out.

I had a lot of algae in the just before i put my fish in, it seems to be more controlled now, especially with my yellow tang he does not stop eating.

Skimmers and Lighting

hi, im new to the marine tanks, ive been reading a lot of articles and some contradicing each other, two simple questions, (i Hope):

1. protein skimmer - does this have to run 24hrs a day 7 days a week, or can i do a few times a week or hours a day?

2. Lighting, other than the 10-12 hours daylight (got the blue night light), can the lights be off totally, including the blue LED?

on both of the above, ive been told by reputable pet store, that it is possible for skimmer run 3-4 times a week and the lightning can go off (total darkness) few hours per day) Kinda like views of guys that out there already

Thoughts?

I have a 4 ft 370 litres total tank, so I believe I can only keep 1 tank in there.

i like the Regal, but I believe the Yellow is easier to keep.

Any advice on what I should go for? Do they both get Whitespot easily?

Urgent help needed Yellow Prown Goby has hole in.....

I just returned from a week long holiday, and saw hat my Yellow Prawn Goby has a hole on the one side.

My other inhabitants are:

2 Ocelaris clowns
1 Cleaner Shrimp
1 Cleaner Wrasse
2 Blue Hermits
1 Pink Spot Shrimp Goby
1 Bi-Color Blenny

All the other fisg seems fine.

Someone who looked after my tank last monday reported that the Goby had a reddish spot on the side, so I assumed it got spooked and hurt itself.

I do not have a hospital tank as yet.

Any advice?

hi guys i purchased 2 clowns 3days ago they are eating well and swimming around now and then! they seem to sit in the conner on the tank most of the time.

why is this?

is my water flow to powerful? iv got a submersible pump 1400l/h and a sunsun wave maker 3000l/h.

will the wave maker be tiering them out?

help would be appreciated

Unit most probably 18 months old but used for 6. I bought this unit a year ago but never used it. Only thing I used from this unit is the halide globes. Comes with mounting feet and will fit on tanks up to 900 long. No hanging kit included as I never got the cables from previous owner. Should be possible to get the suspension cables from a store where i got the original replacement UV shields. Comes with a spare original UV glass shield.

Unit has 2 X 21W T5 on the sides. Would work very well with 20K globes as they are nice and crisp. NO HALIDE GLOBES included as I used the globes in my aqua-medic pendants.

Dimensions: 900L X 315W X 80H.

T5 and Halides work on separate power cords.

Previous owner used it on a SPS dominated 900 X 900 X 700 cube.

New this unit retails for R5500.

Asking R1500.
