Drip aclim for 2 hours.

Popped him in. now Clarkii clowns attacking him like crazy.

Hi Guys

My green slimer turned from dark green to light green brown what can it be lights or high nutrients. There's PE and grow well. All other corals are fine.

Phosphate - dit not test do not trust salifert test kit
CA - 440
MG - 1380
KH - 9
NO3 - Dit not test (test kit to old need to invest in new one)

Any help on finding a BOYU HX- 800 with stand

Hi Guy's

I am urgently looking for a BUYO HX-800 with stand. I am based in JHB, recently purchased one from Sam's Aquarium in Cape Town but need a second one. I would prefer to stick to the same tank and design. Can anybody possibly provide a source or do any of the sponsors have any available.

I am willing to pay for the shipping tank to JHB.

Guys from your perspective what species of fish or corals would you like to see me ordering?

Its always difficult to try and order livestock which caters for every ones tastes so I would like to get some feedback from the reefing community on what fish or corals you would like to see me ordering. Doesnt matter if its chromis or powder blue's to zenia or blastomussa bowerbanki lets hear it

Got this goby for sale. his now messing up my tank since i have sugar fine aragonite, hence the sale.

His an awesome fish, just not for me.

PVC Conduit Pipe

I was wondering. Would I be able to use Conduit PVC Pipe(The white pipes used for electric cables) to run water through into my marine tank?

I want to use normal tubing from the sump to just outside the tank for my inlet. Then take it over the back panel, run it down the back corner.

Then I want to connect it to white conduit pipe running through under my gravel underneath some rock formations, upwards just below the top where the water will come out.

Can I use the conduit? It's not going to be under pressure and it's non toxic.
Is Soda Ash the same as Soda Lime?

Something I do not lekker understand.

Yes, I did test during midday, yes the lights is on a reverse cycle, no, there are no dead or missing fish, and yes, the critters are still roaming around the sandbeds. :biggrin:

And yes, the test kits are not bad, nor is it outdated etc. Also borrowed someone elses test kit and it shows more or less the same. :biggrin:

Nitrates=4
Nitrites= 2.5
Ammonia= 0
Ph=8.6
Alk= 10

I HAVE A LOT OF ALGAE DIE-OFF... surely this does not effect nitrites

How can I have nitrites when all else is fine???
Is it not supposed to be zero,as nitrites normally goes hand in hand with your ammonia levels?????????

All else in the tank is fine, even the "pissy" corals (sps) does extremely well

Ok i have gotten 2 x 150w MH and 4 x 24 t5's

This is my Lighting schedual

10am -2x t5's come on.
11am - another 2 x t5's come on
3pm - 2x MH Come on
5pm - 2 x T5's go Off
6pm - other 2x t5's go off
7pm - MH go off and 4x t5's go on
8pm - 2 x t5's go off
9pm - all off

Hows that sound?
And how much electricity is this all cost in light?
Using Mh as little as possible as i hear they suck juice.

Please give me your input

introducing new fish

I bought an indian sailfin yesterday...
after the drip I dropped him in and my tang immediatelty start attacking the sailfin...continuous. so I caught the sailfin and dropped him in the sump.
Went to Sams and bought a net to keep him in. set it up and put sailfin in the DT in the net.

how long would you recommend me keep him in the net?
btw my tang at the moment is not bothered by him at all. he did not even go there to the sailfin
Frag & Holding tank

Hey guys,
Gonna set up a frag and holding tank.
It is gonna be plumbed into my existing tank.
The idea is when I get new pieces whether collecting, swapping fragging etc I can get them stabilized before moving to my main DT where the current is stronger!
I am tired of picking up pieces off the substate!
Also a bit of a quarintine and holding tank for those special fish that I organize for friends!;)
Specs: 1000L x800W x400H

will be fed from my overflow from my DT then cycle through this tank and then piped to the sump!

I am using 6mm glass, I know it is thin and not really recomended but I'm gonna do loads of bracing and water level is going to be just on 300mm.

Does anyone know if I can add/sync a MP10 to my system of 2 MP40W. I need a bit of extra flow but I dont want another MP40W as it would be too much but I want to sync up a MP10. I asked Scott and he doesnt know

I got this wave controller to try out on my NPS tank with my two sun sun pumps...

I have run it for three weeks on the pumps, with an interval of 30 seconds per pump, and no issues. Still has original box.

Bought it for R380, and I want R250 for it.

It works very well, but the NPS requires very strong flow, and having one pump run at a time is not enough flow for them. This is a great Nano wave maker.

Can change flow intervals from 10 seconds to 6 minute on off, and is dead silent.

I am selling the blueberry as it is too large for my tank. I just do not have space for it anymore.

It is a non photosynthetic gorgonial, and does therefore require daily feeding with zooplankton foods.

It is not the easiest of the gorgonians, but undoubtedly one of the most beautiful!! ;)
