Urgent help needed tank going bad

tank has very bad algae,have done a 100 percent water change maybe a week ago and the algae just takes over,some green and quite alot of dark brown,could it be the lighting (metal halide) or the skimmer?? please help...

Hey all I need some help with my pump.its been working fine n then all of a sudden it starts struggling to pump.I opened it up n cleaned the impeller n put everything back but still no luck.any ideas on what the problem is.do I need to change the impeller.
Help please with RO unit!

Hey all iv just got a Puritech Happy Aquarium 4 stage unit but not sure where the waste water will come out, and where does the little valve go, any help in setting up will help thanks!!

Hey people. I have about 9 good size base rocks. 1 is pretty big. These are diy rocks. Very porous and guaranteed NO hitch hikers! ;) ..

I have quite a bit of rock in my tank at the moment and will have no use for a lot of these rocks. Im looking to swap for frags (nice zoas, shrooms, lps etc .. not keen on leather types :whistling: ) .. Not really looking to sell these for cash however we could make a deal. Check my thread to see some rocks in action. These pics are to get an idea.

Hi Guys

After a recent prolonged power out I unfortunately lost almost all of my tank inmates.
All that made it was the male clown and a few of my Ricordea Floridas.

I took it as an opportunity to redo things a a bit more to my liking.
Hence the decision to go BB and simplify the scape.

Current inmates are :
1 x male true percula (from the original setup)
2 x goldie anthias
1 x McCosker's flasher wrasse

As far as equipment goes:
1 x reeftek ts1 skimmer
1 x life tech 2500 lph return
2 x Seio's (1 x 620 ; 1 x 820)
2 x 150W heaters
6 x 39W t5

Lighting spread as follows (front to back):

White spot affect corals?

Hey guys. I want to set up a cube as a Quarantine tank for my DT but want it to have some life too. So I'm thinking of permanently keeping some corals and locally caught fish in it too. The question is, if a new fish does turn out to have whitespot whilst in this tank and affect the fish and let's say, worst case scenario, they all die - will I have to clean out start the WHOLE tank again or just keep it fishless for a month to kill the whitespot but still be able to keep the corals?

Can a new setup be cycled with sand only, or do I really need live rock? Don't want to take rock from my current tank and don't want to buy right now.
