ok well im thinking of turning my tank into a room divider. my current system lacks an auto top-up. so im going to add one. is it possible to connect a RO unit directly to the auto top up in such a way that it will cut off when the chamber gets to a certain level?
i hope it makes sense. i hope you can coz then i would never physically have to top up with RO ever again :)

Really need some advice, recently received a free 2.0m tank with an overflow, unfortunately cleaning it, i found a crack in the base glass at the non-overflow end :(:(, I know I need to strip it and rebuild, right? how do I 'recycle' this glass? without damaging it? -

Thanks to Marco @ Waterboy , we have a new R.O unit to keep up with the demarnd as weve been running short with the small unit runing day and night.
This new unit pumps out about 550lp day.

For the untill sunday afternoon we will be offering free R.O water to all our MASA customers, so bring in your drums when you visit this weekend.

Help needed to fix skimmer

Hi all,
My skimmer arrived in pieces. All the fittings connecting to the skimmer body broke off during shipping. I need to know who I can contact in regards fixing the skimmer.
The skimmer body is in perfect condition, only the fittings to the body needs to be drilled out and replaced.

Regal Tang munching zoas

My Regal tang (had him for +- 1 year) recently started nipping on my colony of green zoas. It's at a point now that only one or two polyps are visually open. I've witnessed the regal taking a bite out of an open zoa (with the zoa spitting out liquid shit)
Any advise ? He's starting to nip on my purple zoas as well now. -

Show fish Auction ( Regal Angel )

Thought it would be fun to select a special show fish each month and auction it to make things a bit interesting.
So the first one will be this awsome and very big Regal Angel that I have been working with for over a month now. This guy is absolutely stunning and is very healthy. I initially kept him back from the lot he came with because he was so big and I took things really slow with him and have treated this specimen with huge respect and it has resulted in a show fish which is super healthy and very confident. He or She is currently eating pellets and flakes aswell as ON frozen angel formula. This goes to show that only the very best quality livestock is available from Two Oceans Aquatic S&S. The fish is aprox 18cm in length.
The auction will end on Friday at 1pm and a reserve price of R500 is set for this fish.

I'm not in the fish tanks ,more into pools but since i offerd my servises to the shark lab in mossel bay (MOSSELBAY AQUARIUM DOING ABOUT 40 000LT ) to help with the filtering Im using the old sump filtering system with extra sand filters as-well for the main and touch pools i need to get some gravity filters for the smaller 500lt tanks -so any advise where to shop plse let me know thx.. -

I'm having a small aptasia outbreak at the moment and am waiting around for a decent sized and healthy Copperband to assist. In the mean time I'm looking to gear up to try remove them biologically. They are appearing in hard to reach places to removal any other way isn't an option.
In my last system, I'm pretty sure my Peppermint shrimp went postal on my Zoas and Starpolyps. I eventually caught him and gave him to the LFS.
Do they or are they known to eat Zoas occassionally? -

Howzit Guys and gals
I have had my hands dirty "well clean" with tropical tanks for about 6years now but im bored with it now. Its alll the same.
My tank his tank our tank they allllll look the same. So next step is the obvious one MARINE!!!!!!
So the tank i have now and i would like to convert if it is possible is the following.
550lt (120 odd gallon ) glass tank with an internal filter with one 3000lt/h powerhead .
below it is 3 cabinets. Id like to put the sump in here but ill see what the experts say.
The tank has a wooden top with glass slides covering the water.
So its a basic big ass tropical tank as you can see. It has a fair amount of space below the tank in
the cabinet but i still have to see if its possible to use as a sump room.
AAAANYWAY ive seen some awesome looking tanks here hope to have one up and running before the year ends aswell.

Hanna vs Profilux

I have calibrated my profilux conductivity probe and it gives me a reading of 1.026, my Hanna refractometer
was calibrated with distelled water and it gives me a reading of 1.022.

Hi Guys,
Need assitance with my tank lighting and flow.
Tank size is 1500x650x600
I have 6 t5 x 54w (3 White ( 2x15000k giesmann and 1x 10000k reeftek)
(2x BLue reeftek and 1 x Astinic reeftek)
All lights are only 4 months old.
Having a huge cyno and GHA issue. The GHA issue is busy resolving itself due to phospate reducing media. But Cyno still a huge issue.
Flow in the tank could also be wrong I have 2 x sun sun 12000 l/h circulating water in a clock wise dirrection. One on eth one side of teh tank and the other on the other side of the tank. No blowing against each other but rather forming a circle motion.They are both sitting near the top of the tank.My return pump is pushing 2500 l/h.
So my question is what is the right lighting combo and flow for the tank
Light config at the moment is
1x astinic 2x white 1x blue 1x white 1x blue.
All he coral are happy. Pulsing xynias are spreading and so is the white star polyps. the sponges are also growing well. I have been dosing stability as well for the last week. Like i said the gha is finally subsiding but the bubble algea and cyno is killing me.I do a water change every second week of around 20 % and I dose the week I don't do a water change with trace elements and strotium.
