Green Slug

Ok...this morning I got a nice surprise..100% view of my mystery "green worm"...crawling on my glass...turns out to be a "slug" and not a worm..? Can someone ID please...is it harmless or will it eat my Corals..?

I have a good old Selio flow pump. Now matter where I point it on my tank (55cm depth, 75 width, 45 height) one of my corners will get cleared ofthe substrate exposing the glass underneath.

Any advise on how to position the pump?

So I am trying to figure out where to put the frogspawn I am trying to understand if I give it a lot of flow or just little so or example on a scale of 1 being directly in the line of the Selio or the return or 10 being on the far corner of the tank with minimal flow.

As I was looking at my algae trough tonight I noticed a bunch of hair algae in there which is what I want, but I also noticed about 2 dozen polyps.
They are soft, I thought they would be hard because they look like little 3/8" buttons but I touched them and they are soft. They are at the beginning of the trough where they get the most turbulence but the lease amount of light.
I don't yet know what they are but when I get time I will have to turn off the skimmer to stop the water flow so I can see them better and take some pictures. I have never seen these before but it seems that I get this a lot, things popping up from no where.
I can't tell if they are tropical or something from local NY waters.:blush:

Could any please tell me what's up with this fungus like substance on my schroom rock. Had this same sort of problem before and all the schrooms on that rock detached themselfs and eventually died. Worried this will happen again.

How do you know when its right to add a clam

So as I am doing some research I have read quite a few threads including this one.

One thing I am trying to determine though is you often get a stern warning around nennies that the tank should be 10months to a year old before even attempting to host a nennie.

What are the rules and guidelines around clams I see Wild On Pets just got a great shipment of clams in :whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling:

I would appreciate the advise and comments.

2. I don't have one now
3. I do like them I think they bring awesome color to a tank.

Hey guys. Wanted to know if using reef code A & B is worth it. I saw that 2L is only R250 but how long does it last? Do you use 2L in 2 weeks? What are the other economical options for maintaining cal, alk and mg besides the diy supplements?

I want my corals to be bright, and look good day and night. How does this combination look? I have the first two macro-algae coming.

blue mushroom (I have some red and orange that came with the LR :) )

I have a Kenya coral I got with the LR as well.

There's something hiding inside my rock. The rock has little holes, and it sticks out a string that looks like clear fishing line... about an inch long. Sticks it out and back in really fast. What's in there?

Also, little white v shaped tube things hang on the glass-by the pointy end, then they retract into little white specs. What are those things?

How's my water?

How's my water? I'm fighting to bring down phosphate with PHosBuster. (Doesn't seem to work very well.) Waiting on phosban or some such item to come in. (Think it comes in a filter bag. Thought I'd add it to the first stage after the protein skimmer/at the first stage of the refugeum.)

Phos. It's at 5.0 :(
pH between 8.2 & 8.4
Ammonia 0
Nitirite 0
Nitrate 5.0 (I'm guessing this may be up a bit from switching from HOB filter running carbon filter, to just running the refugeum? My filters had lots of good green goo on them, so I probably lost quite a bit of good bacteria there.)
I'm not sure if I should knock that down with chemicals, or wait for the tank to bring it down itself. Please advise. Did do a partial water change.
Salinity 1.024. Going to LFS to get some straight RO. I've been getting their saltwater mix, but I need some RO just for top-offs.

I just hung the HOB protein skimmer and refugeum last week. It only has crushed coral in it. I'm waiting for argonite sand and the phosban, or whatever it is I ordered.

I've got about 4" argonite & crushed coral in Display tank, and will put more argonite in the HOB refugeum when it comes in.
Do I have enough LR? I've been adding a couple pieces at a time.

my first pico build

Hey all. Nice to be here on MASA. I currently have a 5.5lt Pico that has been running for around 2 weeks. My plan is to stock softies and 2 Pom Pom crabs. My DT has a aragonite base and about 2kg LR. Lighting is the standard HP white LED and moonlight LED. I have fitted two Rio sun LED lights each consisting of 5 white led's and 5 blue LED's. The 4lt sump houses the heater ,mini protein skimmer ,the standard filter/flow pump from Pico filled with floss and seagel ,a aragonite DSB and a return pump which also provides the flow. I have fitted a ATO made from a Fancy whiskey bottle a air pump and some airline tubing with a non return valve. I will be fitting a float switch to AT0. Pics to follow as soon as I figure out how to post from my Blackberry.

So I had been wanting a pure black ocellaris clown or two for quite a while now. Last weekend I finally bought a tank bred pair, tiny guys, still with their juv pale faces.
Ive had my current ocellaris clown for close to two years now, and I had concern because every website says you cant have more than one clown in your tank unless they are mated pair.... But I've seen stax of guys with a few clowns in their tanks, so I figured it was the same rule as dont keep more than one tang/angel in a tank- yet no one really follows that rule and it works out.

Still there was quite a bit of risk, given that my other clown was very established in my tank and 3x the size of these little guys. But I figured that he would just protect his territory around his anemone and my new clowns would just have to keep their distance and chill on the other side of the tank.

So I took the risk, bought them and added them in the far side of tank from my established clown.
They chilled together in the corner of my tank for about 2 min, and then started swimming straight for the anemone, and I thought oh no, my clown is going to nail them!
Well these lil tank bred clowns, swam straight passed my clown who seemed to just ignore them and straight into the anemone!!!
I could not believe my eyes!!

My other clown took about 2 months to move into anemone and these little guys found it, and were playing in it within 5 minutes of being introduced to the tank!!
I was dumbfounded!

They are constantly squabbling with each other during the day, I'm guessing to get rights to be the mate of my other clown??, but at night they all shack up together peacefully in the nennie.

So my nennie is now hosting 4! My three clowns and my porcelain crab, amazing!!
