Cheato please please

Evening lads and lasses,

Is this normal for a return pump? Switched off the level of the water is as follows, excuse the pic being on it's side .. couldn't work out how to turn it. So much for me being an IT geek :tt2:

But once the pump turns on it does this. I'm nervous this is going to damage the pump. Surely the whole pump needs to be submerged at all times??

Am I doing something wrong?

hi

what are these sticks kinda things coming out of my substrate in my dt?

its on my left side of the tank, where its brown i cant get that side so clean like the other side. what fish could i get to clean that side?

TL550 skimmer Bubbling over

Hi All

I recentlty set up my TL550, and I have noticed that water, and foam in the skimmer is coming out through the holes on the top of the skimmer cup.
The skimmer cup is also full off water.
My old tank didn't have a skimmer so im no sure if this is right.

Just a quick big up to Marco @The Waterboy,

Called him on Fri as my TDS readings crept up to + 10, I asked him what was needed, he advised me exactly what I needed, he could have easily of sold me a RO membrane as I would have taken his word for it, but he did not.

Goods arrived on Mon morning, fitted filters last night and TDS back to 0

Im a new marine enthusiast. My bf is an addict and i guess i realised if you cant beat them...join them! Also after giving in to his puppy dog faces in the LFS, i figured payback!;)
I have purchased a Jebo R338 nano tank with built in sump thingy and T5 lighting. Im looking to keep mainly coral with a few pieces of LR and hopefully work on getting two awesome fish, something fancy...but thats long from now, the coral is my main priority at the moment.

Every time I get a sand goby for my tank, they live for only a month, first three weeks they do great, but then they become very thin and eventually die, this has happened to all sand gobies in my tank, is it possible that its the sand killing my gobies, please can anyone help me out
