Hello every one ~~~I don't have any tanks unfortunately, but, I married into a family, who for many years bred both salt water fish and cowries, in fact, they were well known, for being the very first in South Africa, to breed certain species in captivity, in tanks in Gauteng, one specie being, *Clowns*. I on the other hand, have a passion for Cowries and I hope, there are other enthusiatist out there, that are willing to share their knowledge with me!!!
I want to get something for my clowns to hang out in they won't irritate to death.

I want to get something for my clowns to hang out in they won't irritate to death. I'm scared to get a nennie (and too young a tank anyway). I've heard nennies can park it on my corals and I don't want that. What's a good LPS? I've heard hammers and torch, but then heard the clowns will irritate them until they die.

ive had this nano since december but have recently upgraded to a 4ft which is still being put together...everything in this nano will be transfered one day

moon wrasse (dnt ask how i keep 2 wrasse in this tank without them fighting...i guess they had no choice but to be friends...got the moon by surprise was never intended)

Flying WITH LR, fish or corals

Have anyone ever taken LR, fish or corals onto a local flight as hand luggage.

Will it be allowed?
Will the 100ml liquid rule trip me up?
Do I need paper work?

If I can not take it as had luggage, can I take it as a pet on the flight?

I travel a lot in SA and always tempted to "diversify the genes" in my tank, but don't want to spend the night in jail.

I'm glad to be a member of this forum and Im sure that I will learn a lot of useful information from all of you regarding marine aquariums...

Well Im new on the marine aqurium hobby and I just started to purchase my equipment for a reef tank and I would like to share them with you and get yr comments/recommendations on the same.

My tank is +-500ltrs with a +-120ltrs sump. UV sterilizer is included (9w) and also a pump of 2500ltrs/h. Also a protein skimmer was included (Boyu WG520 - 250ltrs/h) and I have purchased also two double wave makers with a wave adjuster (6000ltrs/h-each)

Regarding the pump I was told that the one provided with the tank is not good enough and better to purchase a new pump of 5000ltrs at least.
Also Im planning to purchase a chiller (Teco TR15 - 500-800ltrs/h) which Im planning to connect it to another pump (which will be installed in the sump) with a flow rate 1500ltrs/h and the water from chiller to be returned again to the sump.

Kindly let me know if the 5000ltrs will be sufficient and also the pump that will send the water to the chiller is also good enough. Any recommends are welcomed

Ive been using my tank for freshwater fish but recently decided to convert it to a marine , i have two tamato clownfish and button polyps. Would love to hear from you guys because i hardly have a clue on what im doing , thanks:thumbup:

Help! there's an orange like algae growing everywhere , doesnt seem to affect the fish but my button ployp doesnt open anymore

Well on Monday I'll be adding a yellow tang to my system....and I just have the feeling that there is going to be a small war in my tank.I'll just leave the tank with lights out for the day and see how it goes.
