My Father just recently passed away! He was a keen enthusiast since before I was born!

I've been giving it a bit of thought and have been pondering the idea of getting my own fish tank started with a couple of his old favorite fish (Roman emperor 'I think thats what it is called' and clown fish). There were other fish but I just can't remember their names!

He has Corel lying in a bucking along with two empty fish tanks which I think were quite new. In the Corel bucket theres some type of tube attached to a plug and I'm not too sure what to do with it! Have no idea how too start and maintain his Corel.

There are also heaps of salt water in on of his spare cuboards.

Links or idea's on how to proceed would be nicely appreciated to hear/view!

Is there any one lucky enough that lives on the cost and is able to collect local zoas and able to ship to us inland guys?

Hi All

I recieved this old little tank as a gift and was wondering it this can work as a type of nano...

Anyway, I need to find a DIY way of adding propper lighting, and will it be necesary to drill the tank for a little sump as well?

What do you guys think?

Selling my Aqua macro Calcium reactor , 2KG Co2 bottle, solinoid, gauges for R3000.

Carx reactor pump needs a new seal and the setup just needs a ph probe, and controller.

co2 bottle is still full and everything is in perfect working order, selling as i have moved over to a dosing unit.

Decision has been taken consolidate current two tanks into one upgraded tank
No pictures yet, need builder to remove a wall, paint, plaster etc. (wife is thrilled). Also converting outside store-room into water mixing room which will be plumbed direct into the tank.
Tank Details
· 1500mm x 1,200mm x 600mm (water level at 550mm)
· +- 1,000L with sump
· Metal Frame, cabinet & matching open top trim
· Skinny overflow & Euro braced
Equipment List
· Deltec TC 2060 skimmer (rated for 1,700l)
· Deltec KM500 Kalk Stirrer
· Deltec FR512 Fluidised Reactor (NP Pellets)
· Jag Heaters 300w (x2)
· Hailea Hc 1,000 Chiller Unit
· 2x MP40 Vortech pumps (plus additional SunSun Pumps)
· Aquatronic Controller System
· Profilux Dosing Pump (with built in controller)
· Phosphate Reactor (TLF)
· Carbon Reactor (TLF)
Lighting Unit
· Custom made T5 Light fitting 12 x 80w bulbs
So that is about it for now just need builder to do his thing & then LFS to do his thing & we should have tank with water ASAP.
Will post photos as soon as something happens, but just so I dont get banned this is where the tank will stand & which wall needs to be knocked out

Hi Every one!

I have just joined the community and would need some insight on how to constuct my sump Filter for my 2.4m marine tank.

I have a 4ft tank as a Sump filter which I need to fit a Skimmer, Filter media, Heaters and pumps to run this tank. I have not had a Marine tank in about 8 years and the previous tank had already been setup when I took it over.

What a is the bes way to make use of the 4ft tank and what filters are the best, Deep bed or normal or both and which should I put first?

The Displaytanks dimensions is 2400x650x600 thats around 900l, I am repairing the fron glass and have ordered a new on but they have polished the glass all round, is this a problem as I would need a smooth edge on the joining end?

There is support bracing allround on the inside.

Here he is

As you can see I have a fair amount of bubble algae in this particular tank, so I bought this little fellow in the hope that he will devour the stuff, after being in the tank for only 2 days I was happy to see him eating some of the bubble algae :thumbup: He's my new bestest friend, although with the amount of 'food' he has available to him I think I may need to buy him some brothers and sisters to help out. :p
