i have a 3 foot tank at the moment but just brought a 6 foot tank and im trying to work out how to make a drop tank out of my 3 foot tank

at the moment i have
1x orange bubble-tip anemone about the size of a dinner plate
1x sea urchin
2x occelaris clownfish
1x blue tang
2x 4-striped damsels
1x foxface rabbit fish
1x Royal gramma
2x hermet crabs
2x snails
sailfin tang

Hi guys.I just want to know if you guys would recommend a sail fin tang.I did do some research and from what I could get from the site was that it is a good fish to start with.What I want to know is it easyer than the lipstick and will it also go on hungerstrike and does it settle faster in a new enviroment?:)

A while ago I added a Shrimp/gobi combination and just today they moved to a home at the back corner of the tank under my overflow skimmer.
Anyway they are in a place where food never gets to so I shot some pellets near them. In less than a minute the entire corner of the tank extending about 5" both ways was a maze of large 6" bristleworms. I knew I had a bunch of them but I never knew I had so many. They were crawling all over the shrimp and gobi who didn't seem to mind.
If anything dies in this tank it wil be gone in minutes. Great scavengers, and I will try to get a better picture.
I would imagine the worms are a larger percentage of the livestock than my fish.

Seen this on RC, is it just the light or what's up with this BTA. Thought you get red and green, never seen this before, rainbow BTA for sale.

I hear someone spotted a juvenile Lionfish in False Bay last month.
Pretty unusual for this area, but good news for those who like to collect stuff for their tanks

mixing fish

Hi i am starting up a fresh water tank and just need any help as to whether i will be able to mix suckers which are 15-20 cm long with cichlids which are about 8-10 cm, i am planning on mixing about 5 cichlids with 2 suckers which i got from other tanks which i have. any advice would be greatly appreciated

why do green mushrooms have brown slim coming out from it

hi guys hope u all are well ....why would a green mushroom shrivel up and then i see brown slim coming out of it .this happen after i did a water change ...
all the other mushrooms are fine ..... ..any advise
T5 ballast wiring length - how far can I push it?

I've got 3xOsram dual ballasts on my tank.

The tank is 0.65m high and 0.7mx0.7m (L)x(W).

I am having a constant issue with my earth leakage tripping in my house which results in all kinds of drama. This is being caused by moisture getting into the one ballast I've been 'forced' to place on the lighting hood itself and thus too close to the water. I've placed 2 of the ballasts in my cabinet as close to the top as possible for the T5' bulbs at the "back" of the tank, resulting in what I tell myself is no more than 1m of wire. These 2 ballasts never cause the earth leakage to trip. The issue is the 'front' set of bulbs which I reckon are about 0.5m from the back of the tank. If you do the math this would put the wiring length for the 'front' set of T5's at a minimum of 1.3-1.5m - way over what the ballasts recommend at 1m (maximum).

Will it still work if I rewire this ballast to be inside the cabinet and a length of 1.3-1.5m.

It's quite frustrating.

Other suggestions?

I've included a picture of the whole cabinet so you can see that I've opted for an extremely low lighting hood. It's compact, neat and I like the look of it... except it doesn't appear practical.
