Found this guy cruising in the DT after dark. Took him out and placed in the sump to get a better view and snap. Looks like a slug with white dots on his tentacles.

Hermit crabs and snails in the refugium??
Is this advised or not?
Would the hermits and snails not feed off the other smaller pods and life in the refuge??

How far should brain corals be apart?

I got another beautiful specimen last week and its placed about 15cm from all other corals.

I noticed some bleaching after lights out with a torch on the side where the another brain is (15cm away). I'm thinking that it may be a sting from the other brain as all my parameters are in check. All my other brains are perfect as well.

Could it be that its having a hard time adjusting to the new lighting conditions from the LFS? Or maybe even my long spined urchin?

I can comment that I've never seen its feeder tentacles since I've had it which worries me a bit.

Can you keep a rbta and a green bubble tip nennie in a boyu tl550 or will they start a chemical warfare? just thinking that they kinda the same species so might be possible. ive upgraded the lights and ive got everything i require to keep the nennies. im thinking it might be a little small to keep two nennies. what you guys thinking?

Desperate for Caulerpo in JHB

Does anyone have any Caulerpa they're willing to give away. I'm really desperate for the stuff - I've got Chaeto, but doesn't seem to be as effective as when I had Caulerpa. I'm in the Sundowner/Northriding area. Would greatly appreciate it.

I bought brightwell neo marine salt and to do water changes. What is the salinity reading suppose to be? 1.025 or .................My water test 1.029 is this to high?

Hi

My tank has been running for about 2 weeks. It was running NSW for a week before I put in the rock. It was not LR as the rock had been out of the water for a few days. When I got it, I soaked it overnight in NSW, then scrubbed it clean with NSW and then soaked overnight again with fresh NSW. I noticed the marked growth after a couple days but it is growing. It seems soft as it does move a bit with the "current" but it hasn't moved from that spot. Sorry about the clarity of the pic, it's taken with my BB as my camera is out on loan to my folks.
