Please Pray for My Brother Bob!

Please say a prayer for my brother Bob. He has been fighting throat cancer for a year. He's had a bone removed from his leg to replace the decaying bone in his face. He's also had major skin graphing done. The first surgery failed, and he will now undergo a second surgery tomorrow. His face is completely deformed to the point that it scares people. He is my brother, and afraid to face the public. I can't imagine what this is like. The few words that he is able to say, he says this is no life to live. I can't imagine life without him. All prayers are greately appreciated!

Hi All

I have 2 of those sunsun 101 power-heads i have attached to the back of the tank facing in one point one i higher than the other

1 my fish don't seam to like the the strong current
2 are they meant to be on timer and only come on @ specified times
3 when they are on the stir up a lot of derbies

Hi There Reefers and Marine maniacs....

Wow, what a find (refering to MASA), I have read and learned a huge volume of valuble information so far and i will continue study the many MASA posts to learn further.

I am hoping to get started in this mental hobby by years end and look forward to sharing my journey with you all. :1:

I am planning a large volume tank , around 500L -600 L dislpay volume. Not sure what volume sump I should use. My ideal would be on a 90cm high display stand, Tank: 160cm L X 55 cm D X 75cm H. ( getting a quote this week on this custom build )...... Not brave enough to go DIY.:blush:

I will definately be asking advise on equipment before I rush out and spend the G's

This is my reef setup. Its been running for close to 2yrs now.

Reading Trees Publications is the publishing company owned by Anthony Calfo and has published a number of Aquarium books.

Cold water pond - just started

Hi,

I have just built about a 1000 liter pond (cold water). And currently I have several koi fish and gold fish, a few water plants and a couple of snails enjoying their new habitat.

I am totally new to this and if anyone can help with the following it will be greatly appreciated.

1. Are there filters available that remove chlorine from tap water? (I would like to install a ball valve to automatically top up my pond, but I need to get the chlorine out to do that).
2. What species (other than koi or goldfish) can survive in an outdoor cold water pond?
I was hoping to get some leads on:
a) Different kinds of snails
b) Shrimp (are there any fresh water shrimp that is legally allowed)?
c) Fresh water clams
d) Fresh water crabs?
e) Any bottom feeders?
(I am looking for a cleaning crew!)

Are anyone familiar with these?

I wired them up, but the don't turn off completely....

I've got them on my Lighting fixtures. The lights turn off but not the fans in the fixtures.

Am I doing something wrong? Is my wiring messed up?

Hi, I am thinking of putting TWO Sicce yoyager powerheads with a Wave Surfer controller on my new tank.

The tank is 1200x600x500 (LxWxH)

I see that they have three differnent strenghts i.e.

800 GPH
1200 GPH
1600 GPH

I believe that Sicce is good, what are your thoughts also which strenght should I put in to create the right flow in the tank to handle SPS eventually.

I assume that you would put one on each side of the tank.
