curing LR

Hi Guys, could someone please tell me again how it is done, Iv got a piece LR that sat in the sun for about 3weeks, so i scrubbed it thoroughly and washed it with RO, cant i just put it in my sump, in my skimmer comp. for lets say a month, then into DT, or should i cure it in the bucket method, skimmer, powerheads water change 3 months low lighting, all of that stuff, please help
