Tang with shredded tail

This hippo tang's tail is getting more and more shredded. Not sure if it's him acting aggro and wiggling it on sand and rocks, or him fighting with the yellow tang. It does not seem inflamed or red anywhere. Is it an illness? Could it be something picking at it while he sleeps? -

This Hippo Tang scared the heck out of me. He was flying around the tank really fast with a shell on his face. I thought a hermit was attacking him, but it was just him playing. He picks up a shell or a piece of LR and swims as fast as he can, then drops it. :lol:
Fish have such personality. I don't think non-fishpeople understand that. -

I've noticed that fish and Xenia move in 4/4 time. It sure makes it easier to match up music to them, when making videos. :) -
Yellow Star Polyps are putting out fuzz

My Yellow Polyps are covered from their base out about 6" from the colony in all directions with this fuzzy mat with like airholes in it. I'm guessing it's them spreading. How do I control them? They are on a large rock and the fuzz is getting up next to other corals. I don't want it covering my favorite zoa's. Is it them spreading? What do I do? (I think they are yellow polyps, not yellow star polyps.) -

The Red Corris Wrasse is a complete jerk and should not be in a reef tank. They flip crud over and disturb the dsb. I call mine El Diablo, because he IS the Devil... I hate that fish. He eats my clean up crew, no matter how much he gets fed. Flips rocks, corals, and even pries them off of their putty/mounts. Just noticed he's now gotten FANGS! He's impossible to catch. I get within view of the tank with a net, and he burries himself in the sand under the substraight. The jerk spits sand all over the corals. He'd be ok in a preditory fish only... I wouldn't even feel bad if he ended up as some other jerk's meal. It's a good thing I don't own spear fishing gear or a gun... I'd probably snap some time and shoot through the glass at him. Just sayin', I wouldn't ever recommend one of those fish. He's the bane of my existance. -
Bubble Algae squirted me in the eye!

Ok, I saw some little metalic looking round bubble algae on the back of a small mushroom rock. I pulled it out and went to try to scrape off the bubble algae and rinse the rock with tank water. One of them broke and squirted in my eyes! I had safety glasses with side shields on, but it still got me. (Guess I should have had diving goggles on.) Am going to have problems from getting that stuff in my eyes? -

10 gal questions

I have a 10 gal. I'm not using for anything. I have excessive chaeto in my fuge, so I was thinking of putting some of the chaeto (with whatever pods come with it) into the 10 cal, with airstone, some kenya frags (which are littering my tank), a snail, and a hermit crab. Thought I might be able to grow out more pods, and use it as a kenya frag tank. I have dead-live rock piece and a few shells, decorations in there. With the small bio-load I'd have; would I need to run a filter? Does it sound like the bio-load would be fairly balanced? Thought I might throw in some carbon in a panti-hose. Any issues you folks can think of with this? -

Do Aiplasia floresce green under the blue lights? I've got large patches of what look like little brown Aiplasia, but they floresce under the blue nightlights and don't seem to be getting any bigger. Hard to take pics, because they are only about 1/16" tall. -

I've got lots of green coraline algae, but little pink/purple. (Circular growths on back of tank glass.) I was not cleaning the back and thought some nice pink and purple coraline back there would look ok, but it's covered in the green ones. Only one little pink one in site. How do I encourage the pink/purple/maroon colors and discourage the green? -

Darn it. Got up this morning and the airline to the skimmer had come off. The whole tank was flooded with microbubbles. Came home this evening, and the clam was dead. Testing water now. Could the bubbles have killed the clam? -
Little chromis meets his end with a powerhead

One of my new little chromis got sucked up next to a powerhead. I freed him, but he had a big hickey on his side and shortly there after passed. I turned that powerhead off. He was perfectly fine 30 minutes ago. I think the are just too small and got too close. :(
How can I protect the smaller fish from these? -

Is this a flatworm in my fuge?
What's this brownish thing? It's on this frag plug and seems to be getting bigger. Saw one on a rock also.
Are these baby snails?
Is this red macroalgae or coral?
Seasquirts?
A blue sponge?
Is this fuzzy stuff on the side of this frag the polyps spreading?
This emerald green crab has algae and sponges growing on his legs. Is that a problem? Why doesn't he pick it off?
Has anyone had any luck getting these white polyps to transfer to another sponge or rock? The red sponge under it isn't doing well.
