T5 Connection Issue *%#!

So I bought two Reeftek T5 tubes (54W) over the week end (Need 12 to complete my canopy)
Got the 2 to test the setup... ballasts n all...
I Think I may know why...
But could some1 lend their experience as to why when I got them connected, the lights stay on for like 10 seconds and then switch off... i have to unplug and plug back in to get them on again... then for only another 10 seconds or so.... What did I do wrong? or is something faulty?

Would it be ok to connect the outlet to my overflow return via a T piece? (As image bellow - A)
and will the old skimmers 2000l/h pump work for the inlet?

Gota ask the question: How often should a lil fire shrimp shed his skin/shell?
we have had ours for like 2 months and has alredy shed 3 times?
I know its said its because its growing, but could there be other reasons, like hes unhappy with the envorionment or something?

What additives can one get at the chemist to increase quality of the water in a marine tank.

What are they good for or are they a not so good fella to have?
Anyway, also wana know if its ok to leave him in the sump, he does count as cleanup crew does he not? will he eat the algae and crap down there? should i still gooi some food in there for him or will the crap he scavanges in the sump be enough? -

We still gota build the canopy for our tank, and need to descide how the lighting will be installed.
Here is a lil example diagram of what i was thinking... please suggest what T5 tubes you would use, gona use 54W balasts i think ?!? each balast takes two tubes?!?
got a 8 output Siemens LOGO PLC that ill program as a timer for all the lights. including the sump lights.
Oh and i know not to use mirror but it will be sealed in the enclosure, no moisture from the tank should get to it(Hopefully)

Why does it seem that the ball of Cheato we got from marc is like... withering away...
when we got it it was like firm and bushy but now jus over a month later its like brittle and mushy, what we doing wrong that could be screwing up the Cheato ? i thought all it needed was light, we got a 11W energy saver continuously on in the sump. too much light? not strong enough light? -

Howzit, tanks been cycling for about 2 and a half months now, seen a lil itsy bitsy snail and an itsi bitsy (that thing with the flat shell you see on rocks) thingy... the feather worm i got from mark is thriving in the sump, and now there are like 5 of them... so something must be going right.... but i got a lot of brown algae growing in the sump and want to know, besides turning off the light in the sump, what lil creature can i get that will eat the arlgae? and be happy in the sump, and not eat the feather forms? -

Anothe quick and probebly stupid question here....
Our tank is in its 4th week of cycling now, and i have noticed that there is a lot of ... er... um.... decomp thats not supposed to be in the tank... there are quite a few moths that get into the tank... and sump... the overflow catches most of the shitthat landup in the DT, but there are like 3 large moths that are stuck to the return pump in the sump, okay, like 2 and half(one is almost melted away). should i clean them off or is it helping my cycle in someway?
i have noticed that the sump has quite a bit of life since we got some sand from Marc, so hopefully thing are going well so far... -
DSB Lighting Question?

I want the pods n stuff t grow, does too much light time have a negative impact on pods and chaeto?
