  It is a beautiful day in Umhlanga. I have just been at the tidal pools and saw lots of gobies or maybe blennies. Saw a moray eel as well as quite a few convicts. Not catching anything as I do not have a permit and means of bringing them home.

  Right now on 261 NGwld is a fantastic program on Seahorses. It's almost finished but there is a rescreen tomorrow morning at 7:00. Really worth the watch!

  Tank Update

  Thought it was time to do an update on my tank! Just over 2 months old now.
  
  All is going well (thanks Dorry Pets and Peter).
  I have now added an NP pellet reactor as well.
  
  The first fish in the tank are 5 springeri damsels and one yasha goby. They are all doing extremely well and eating like pigs!

  I'm not sure what this is? Is it safe to keep or should I rather get rid of it. I's basic colour is brown with green banding.
  
  
  
  And is this a sponge? There is one large one and lots of smaller ones on other rocks. Is this safe to keep?

  Tank Update

  All seems to be going well! The tank has arrived and has been up and running since last Wednesday.
  
  I have added about 24kgs of Fuji live rock which was very alive. Tons of tube worms are present. Also found a dead crab!

  The journey begins

  I have kept freshwater tropical fish for many years now (Not telling how many) and have now decided to venture into the marine world. Dorry Pets is building and installing my setup for me.
  
  My stand, sump and skimmer have been delivered. Hopefully the rest will be delivered and installed very soon.
  Specs of my marine tank -
  
  DT - 1.5m x 700 x 550 10mm sides & 12mm base
  Euro bracing and cross brace
  Left corner overflow
  Sump - 1.5 x 500 x 380
  3 chambers with an additional chamber for ATO
  Light in sump for chaeto
  Reef Octopus Bubble Blaster 2000INT rated for 800lt
  HX-6540 wet/dry return pump
  2 x SEIO Prop 1500
  CaribSea Special Grade Reef sand for DT
  Playsand for DSB
  
  
  Lighting will be an ATI Sunpower 6*54W T5 that it coming in a month's time.

  Not sure what the inhabitants will be yet. That is the fun part!!!
