  Tank moving home and city.....

  Hi all,
  In the next week to two weeks I'm relocating from the Strand in CT back to the city of my birth East London......this has all happened rather unexpectedly and in all the chaos I have only now thought about my tank and the panic is setting in!!! Any advice or words of wiasdom as to the best way to go about relocating a tank and live stock to a new city???

  Hammer in trouble?

  Hi guys,
  
  I have had a hammer coral in my tank for about 8 months and it's been doing fine. For the last few days it hasn't opened propperly and when i checked it yesterday i noticed that on 2 of the 3 heads the tissue that grows over the coral skeleton has receded right back to the lip (if that makes sense). On the other head the tissue overlap is proberly 5mm. Checked my parameters last night and everything seems to be in order. My other corals are growing well. Any suggestions on anything i could have missed or anything else i should check?

  Hi guys,
  
  My LFS has a Midas Blenny for sale. How would he be in a STD 4ft tank where i already have a purple firefish? There are lots of hiding places but i really don't want to upset the peace.
  They also have a very cool orange sponge......what is the survival rate on these / how well do they do in aquaria and how tempremental are they?

  Local CT tubeworms

  Hi guys, just wanting to know if anyone has tried the local tubeworms found in the CT area in their reef tanks. I'm in Gordons Bay and have found some magnificent specimens in white and orange. Do they handle the conditions in a reef tank??

  Pods!

  Is there such a thing as too many pods??........while my tank was cycling they skeemed it was the perfect love nest and i now have gazillions!! My DT glass is full of them and there are obviously plenty in the sump to.
  My little six line wrasse is in pod heaven but he would explode before he managed to dent them!!!

  ID Required.......

  Hi Guys,
  
  These critters are attached to or have emerged from my live rock would appreciate some ID.
  First is a snail that emerged........this is the big boy....all the others are small and black!!
  
  
  Then we have some sort of Nennie type thing???Also have two crabs (that i've seen so far) but the trap has been set for them tonight......need to get decent photos for ID.....

  Firstly a big howsit to all here....been watching from the sidelines for some time!! The amount and quality of information available on MASA is priceless!!
  I've been out of this hobby for 15 years but growing up in EL I had marines for many years. But that was back in the day when reverse flow undergravel filters were cool!!:whistling: Boy things have changed!!! So anyway for the last few months i've been in the process of buying a fishing tackle shop and stress has been running high, so decided to throw myself into a little project to occupy my mind!!!
  I had a choice.....buy a labrador or set up a tank.......so this is the journey so far for my 1.2m labrador that does not fetch but gives the room a awesome blue glow!!:yeahdude:
  
  
  So it started with a Std 1200x450x450 and a stand inherited from a mate......
  
  ....and some supervision....
  
  Bossi and myself learnt that cutting glass is not as easy as it looks but we got there in the end. A old 3ft became my sump....
  
  Without mates this project would never have happened......some modifications were done to the stand. Was 50x50 square tubing. Became 50x50 with 50x75 top frame and a taken down to 900 high. Bulletproof!!!!
  
  The surface rust on the stand was dealt with by my electric drill and a wire brush and my own sweat and a little blood........
  
  But eventually looked like this.
  
  4 x cans of Hammertite later I learned it would have been far more cost effective (half the price) to by a litre can and paint it on!! But dont think the finish would have been as nice...
  
  Check the flash bouncing off the hammerite suspended in the air.........after cleaning it out my nostrils with meths i needed many :peroni:
