Hi All
Is it normal for a bubbletip anemone to split into four or more. My green bubbletip split into what could be four or five new pieces. Two normal color brown/green and two very very light green. It looks like another behind them. I have a pink tipped bubbletip that split in two also. I'll speak to the wife about selling.

Found this worm like creature on my front glass this morning. It does not look alive, more like a clump of wool stuck to my glass.
Ideas?????

If this is covered please forgive me. Woke up with a bright light in my head:)
I have been keeping marines for years but am a complete newbie when it comes to all the new equipment available to help with keeping a tank in top condition.
How about a sticky with what equipment to add to your system. Some things like skimmers I know about but others not so sure. There must be "have to have" and "cool to have" .
Meaning ;
Skimmer. Most people will agree this is a have to have. As far as i know it removes small particles from the water.
calcium reactor, really needed or just make it easier to keep calcium at proper level?
Kalkwasser Have no clue what it does or if it is needed or just helps
Electronic testers, etc. Stuff you can leave on so that you can check all is ok without having to worry about getting out the test kit for this or that.
There is a lot of other equipment that I am not sure of where to find it or what it does and I am sure a lot of other people, "ecspeccialy" (dit is n groot woord:whistling:) those who are new to the hobby.
If this has been done please point me in the right direction.
Cheers
Geoff

Hi All
I read about aquascaping with cement. I have put a cement block in my koi pond before. Anybody with knowledge of any dangers of putting stuff made of cement in a marine tank? I would think that it be ok if cement is properly set (say after a week or two).
Any ideas welcome.

Hi All: I read that having chaeto in your sump is a good thing. Where can I get, preferably in the Cape Town area?

My substrate is very dirty so I decided to clean it. Can I wash it with fresh water or do I have to use salt water. I do not want to kill the bacteria in it.????
Any ideas.

Hi All
I have been keeping marine fish for about twenty years. I had a +- ten year "dry spell" (no tank) and about four years ago I got a 1,2 m tank and started again. I bought a couple of corals off gumtree and was introduced to MASA.
I must say: I like what I see. Geoff
