Came home to my angel dead in the QT tank,its a 200litre tank
Tank has fully matured LR from my 2m tank
been in ther for 3 weeks,noticed a small marking but thort its like dust from the lr wher he sleeps under
ther are 2 clowns in the same QT and a tiny emperor

WC of 20% evry 3 days,airstone in,wavermaker and carbon in the tank

Been dosing with stability stability and prime as per dosages required.

Salifert test kits used
Refracto SG at 1.020
PH 8 (no lights on the QT,only natural light)
ammonia 0
Nitrate 2
nitrite 0
Alk 8
temp 25
Calcium 410
phophate 0.2

Can anyone tell me what this fish is exactly?
scientific name will be appreciated

i thought its a proper Queen angelfish (Holacanthus ciliaris)

Fish mix advice

Hello all

need some input with my fish selection.
Currently have a fish only setup so i need advice on what fish could work.
2mX.6X.6

This is my current inhabitants:
Vlaminigi tang
Bluethroat trigger(female)
Midas blenny
Sifter goby(valencia sexguttata)
Lamarck angel
Swallowtail angel
Rusty angel
emperor angel(juv)
2 percs clowns

Want list:
Regal angel
bluethroat male
Purple tang
Regal tang
Flame angel or Queen angel

Anybody foresee issues with this mix?
Also if the want list fish will mix well,what order should they be added?

Hi

Have my old 2m tank that cracked in the one corner on the front pane
Any tank builders or good diy guys can maybe cut the glass,andf make a nice 1.6m tank or smaller tank from this.

Its all 10mm glass

if nobody takes im gona throw it away as i need to setup the gift i got from frans

Urgent help needed Tank wipeout

urgent help,
Over the last few days my tank has taken a total disaster,not sure how or why the ammonia spiked but with such bad effect my tank inmates were badly affected,with my angels being the first to go.

ammonia was in the red zone in the Sera test kits,ph was 8.7. and 0.09 nitrites.

what i did was two 25% wc over two days,dosed stability and amgaurd into the tank as instructed.

also tried lowering the ph which should help to nuetralize the ammonia if ph is lowered to about 7.

what else can i do?sailfin tang has black spots all over,foxface showin signs of red streaking
all still swimmin around but not eating.

Howzit peeps,

I recently setup my 2m tank with various fish in from my old system including triggers,tangs,angels etc no corals.......

since ppl are talkin of shaolin fish looking awesome in a tank,iwas thinkin of adding a big group of percula clowns maybe about 16-20 of them.

Will this work?
will they kill each other off?
Will the other inmates giv them a hard time?
Must I add them all together or can i add 5 at time?

I like the effect of the Two Oceans Aquarium Nemo tank,i just want to mix them up abit.
fix a leak

howzit peeps,

i have a leak in a very awkward position in my overflow chamber from the DT.
its leaking at a drop evry 3 seconds.

Issue is a cant manage to fit the silicone in the chamber(damn narrow) or even fit the silicone gun and the point of the nozzle to reach the point wher leak is.

any ideas???even tried using my finger,but cant manage to seal it proply.

Need some urgent advise,i recently took on the challenge of building my own tank
YES,my first build and it a 2000X600X600 with 10mm glass all round.

Have bottom braces front and back aswell as ontop on the corners and across the middle.

Tank has been running for a week with no issues UNTILL today!

Came home now and the two middle struts(braces has popped loose)seems like 10mm gap now from where it was attached to point where its hanging now.

front pane has flexxed so now im worryin......

*** do i do?

just try to add more bracing?

Peeps,

Need some advice:

I am moving house by end of this month and need to swop over my livestock from my 2 yrs old system(1.2m) to a new 2m build(my very first DIY) and no leaks:thumbup:

The 2m was only filled yesterday aftn and no leaks thus far so i started the cycle
with a peice of muscle to rot and added from my matured LR and some sand from my sandbed with a heater and one pump for flow.
Also i added Fauna marin Ultra Bak and ultra bio(been using this on my current setup with great success)

My issue is that i HAVE to move evrything out my old place by month end and need to speed this cycle up as fast as possible as i have about 11 fish to move over,the distance from my old place to new place is like 10metres(bought house next door,lol)

Other issue is i will only be siliconing the sump today or 2moro so my 2m is operating sumpless at the moment.

Also i wont be goin DSB anymore just be using either Fauna marin route or equivalent.
Will prodibio startup make my cause abit quicker?

What does the MASA members recommend i do?

a Week ago my sicce pump impeller broke due to a power surge,i then bought a entire pump as the cost of a replacemnt impeller.

So i replaced the pump with same sicce pump and connected it to my reef octo 160,the water is pushed up the chamber and very little foam/bublles are being produced.
I let it run over night in hope it needs to settle and the foaming with become denser,but this did not happen.
Venturi is connected so the air draw is ther
